Major cities of the UK
Most people in the UK live in towns and cities. The handbook includes a map of the major cities in each nation.
England has the most cities. Besides London, large cities include Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Bristol, Newcastle upon Tyne, Bradford, Plymouth, Southampton and Norwich.
In Scotland the main cities are Edinburgh (the capital), Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee. In Wales they are Cardiff (the capital), Swansea and Newport. Belfast is the capital and largest city of Northern Ireland.
